How to Stop the Biggest Problems With Anxiety Sweating

Anxiety Sweating is a serious and vexatious matter, especially when it occurs in a public or social setting. It is not easy to avoid shaking hands with others and it is almost impossible to stay away from handling papers, books, documents, files etc. in schools, colleges, offices, banks, malls, events and other public establishments. There is no way you can hide from others. Even a simple thought of hiding such conditions from people can result in great emotional distress, that can aggravate your stress and cause anxiety sweating!

Many people in such cases rush to the doctor who instead of diagnosing the symptoms properly may hastily prescribe some anti-depressants which may temporarily mitigate your symptoms. The original problem remains untreated and you may end up becoming addicted to the anti-depressants.

Generally, the anxiety sweating condition begins during adolescence but can also start at any time any age and it may continue throughout your lifetime effecting your face, hands, armpits, feet, trunks and thighs; anxiety sweating can occur at random intervals all through the day with or without night sweats.

Explore these strategies, secrets and tips to manage and stop your anxiety sweating:

Know yourself. Nobody can know you better than yourself. You should pay attention to factors, situations, people and circumstances. Learning to recognize and accepting the physical symptoms that usually develop, whenever you feel anxious is the key. Once you know what triggers your anxieties then it becomes easier to control and manage them

Affirmations. These are positive statements, spoken repeatedly in the present tense. They will help you to quickly relax and calm you down. Affirmations influence your subconscious mind and produce miraculous results.

For example, if your heart starts pounding and if you start sweating due to a certain trigger and if you repeat an affirmation like ‘I am relaxed. I am doing fine. I accept my life totally and I am comfortable with the environment. I feel safe and protected.’ Your body immediately will begin to calm down and your heart beat will slowly settle and become normal.

It may take a while for your body-mind coordination to get sensitized to affirmations but with regular practise your system will get conditioned and start working in your favour. You can read the books of bestselling authors like Louise Hay’ and others for inspiration and affirmations.

Avoid anxiety triggers. The best way you can deal with anxiety sweating in the first place is by avoiding situations which you feel cause anxiety. This is easier said than done, but this appears to be a simple yet effective method to manage anxiety pangs until you totally come to terms with it. If you become anxious in crowds or super-markets, for example, then can stay clear of them.

Breathe. If you cannot avoid anxiety-producing situations, then you can still negotiate with such situations by relaxing and deep breathing (also known as diaphragmatic breathing) techniques.  One method is to breathe in through your nose for four counts, relax and hold breath for seven counts, and then breathe out gently to a count of eight. This method will relax your muscles and provide a pleasant distraction from an anxiety situation.

Consider medication.  If you feel anxiety sweating is not stopping at all and if the physical symptoms become unbearable then you can consult your doctor about taking certain anti-anxiety or anti-depressant medicines.  Usually, if anxiety is the underlying problem for your physical symptoms, then the symptoms will go away if you treat the anxiety.

SSRI (selective serotonin reuptake inhibitors) are commonly used for long-term treatment of depression and anxiety.  They work by restoring the equilibrium and balance of chemicals in your brain. Paroxetine and Sertraline are some of the most commonly used SSRI’s to treat anxiety disorders.

Anxiety attacks can also be treated with Diazepam (Valium) or Benzodiazepine. These are quick-acting medications and are particularly good for short-term treatment of severe panic attacks.  These medications basically act by relaxing and calming you down.

If there is any event or an important occasion wherein you feel you may get anxious then your doctor can prescribe ‘Beta Blockers’ which you will have to take just before the event or occasion. ‘Beta Blockers’ are a class of medications that are used to treat certain heart conditions and also to reduce the blood pressure. This reduces anxiety sweating in many cases. ‘Propranolol’ is a popular ‘Beta Blocker’ that is commonly used by Doctors. Remember, consult your doctor before taking any medication.

Exercise. You should not compromise with exercise. Regular exercise and physical activities like brisk walking, jogging, running, swimming, cycling, aerobics, weight training, yoga etc. helps in the production of the happy hormones ‘Endorphins’. These ‘Endorphins’ are known to alleviate stress and anxiety sweating. Physical activity makes your body strong and prepares you to overcome stress. Exercise, undoubtedly, is certainly beneficial to your general overall mental health.

Two or three hours of moderate exercise per week is recommended for adults. Anything more than that is a bonus depending upon your body threshold. People have experienced beneficial effects within an hour of physical activity per week.

Go ahead and use these strategies, secrets and tips to manage and control your anxiety sweating. Please do not hesitate to consult your doctor, if symptoms persist.
